Restoring near vision in one eye with a small disc with a hole in its centre, placed in the cornea — a reversible method.

KAMRA is a small black disc with a hole in its centre that is placed in the clear front layer of the eye (the cornea). Through this small opening, it is possible to see both near and far clearly without glasses.

KAMRA received its CE certificate from the European Union in 2005 and is a safe method.

KAMRA is applied to one eye only, because it removes the eye’s ability to adjust the size of the pupil to the light level.

People who have KAMRA treatment can do short reading tasks — reading a menu, using a phone, looking at a price tag — without glasses. For longer reading, however, they need reading glasses that also give near vision to the other eye.

One of KAMRA’s greatest advantages is that it is reversible: if it has to be removed for any reason, the eye can return to its state before KAMRA.
